The technology formation of fur gathers for decorating products

Decorating textiles product with gathers is an effective means of enhancing the expressiveness of the material's texture. The most popular among designers are figure gathers that make products bright, stylish and unique. However, for fur materials, this technology of
volumetric decoration is used very limited and fragmentary, which is due to the lack of research  in  this  direction.  The  purpose  of  the  work  is  the  study  of  the  formation  of  figured gathers for decorating fur products. The analysis of existing technologies for the formation of fur gathers with cuts, stitching holes and tucks, which showed that the assortment row of gathers with these technologies is not different in latitude and novelty, was carried out. The features of manufacturing figure gathers made of natural fur are revealed. Testing them in demonstration samples allowed us to show how the implementation of the traditional technology of decorating textile materials is applied in relation to the "non-traditional" fur material.  A  comparative  description  of  the  parameters  of  the  process  of  forming  eight  known types of figure gathers from textile materials and fur is given. The technology of formation of fur gathers is considered on the example of a product of small forms – a fur scarf made of mink fur. Products decorated with fur figure gathers may well become the object of an individualized style of consumption, when in the system of consumer preferences, the rarity of a
product, its exclusivity or prestige are a target function of purchasing goods. These requirements are met by the use of expensive fur raw materials and non-traditional fur technology for its decoration. Against the background of classical elements used in costume design, ac-
cessories  and  house  interiors,  figure  gathers  bring  profitable  variety  and  new  possibilities, which is an important argument in favor of the expediency of  expanding  the  use  of  this technology and applying it to decorating fur materials.
